Call up the Acorn record for the journal and select "Maintain Existing Titles" to get to MARC record (Pop up box will retain title. Click on current. Click on OK)

Add 506 field: Internet version restricted to Vanderbilt users.

Add 530 field:  Also available online via the Internet.

Scroll down to the 800's and insert an 856 field with indicators 41.

Paste the prefix and url base into the text area: (for ProQuest)

Click on OK to save work

Check title in web version of Acorn to be sure that link is to full text within the last 6 months, not just abstract or citation information

Adding Internet Library

Select Wizard "Add Volumes and Call Numbers"

Select the "Add Call Number" button located at the bottom of the record

Edit screen as follows:

        New call number  AVAILABLE ONLINE  
        class scheme  ALPHANUM

Hit OK to save work

Internet Only Version

Search OCLC for records of the journal title and export into Acorn. Refer to OCLC Searching for search strategies.

To export add a 949 field to the OCLC record:  In home position type:
99 949      |h DIV [F11]

Export record in home position:    xpo [F11]   

Search by title in Acorn. (It will appear in Acorn in a couple of hours, but the record is only retrievable by call no. or OCLC # until the next day)

Warning: Electronic journals must be in the serials format. If the exported version is in the computer file format = MRDF, edit the record format found in the control tab by selecting SERIAL from the drop down menu. You will have to exit Acorn and re-enter before the change will take effect.

BIB TAB

Add an 006

[Delete 006  Type code = NONE  click on OK]

Add an 007 field:    c|br|dc|en|fu  This signifies that the title is a computer file, accessed remotely, is multicolored, dimensions are unknown, and the sound is unknown. This is pretty standard coding but could vary. 

Add to 245 field:  h[electronic resource] after subfield a and before any additional subfields.  VU edits the field from computer file to electronic resource.

Add 773 0   field:  |tProQuest Direct

Add 856 40 field: 

CONTROL TAB

Verify that the record format is SERIAL .

Change date cataloged from NEVER to TODAY.

ALL VOLUMES TAB

Click on the "Add Volumes and Call Numbers" wizard. Click on the "Add Call Number" button. Library should be Divinity.  Click OK.

Call number: format an LC call number if it is provided on the record. Shelf list to determine that it works in our catalog. If it does not have a call no., notify Eileen to assign one.

Home location:  WEBACCESS

Category 1: 68-DIVINITY

Circulate:  uncheck

Create Internet Library call and copy:  Adding Internet Library
