- There are 7 kinds of plastics.
You can’t tell
- by feel or appearance.
- Most items have a triangle with a number
- inside stamped on the bottom.
- #1 and #2 only can be recycled in the GLB.
- Other numbers can be recycled in
- Metro Nashville and other county convenience
- centers, but check first.

- #1 and #2 plastics (Soda and water bottles, and milk jugs are usually
ok)
- Rinse containers clean

- #3-#7 plastics cannot be recycled in the GLB; but there are other places
in Nashville and surrounding counties
- Styrofoam take out food containers are NOT recyclable.

- Clean soup cans, soda cans, aluminum foil.
- Wash/rinse to reduce attracting pests.

- Dirty and food contaminated metal containers

- Recycle bins are located in many staff areas and near the elevators on
each floor in the GLB
- Place items in appropriate bins
