Aquisitions
Any patron or library staff person can submit an ebook for addition to ACORN to Anne Womack, Collections Librarian. The ebook will be evaluated by the bibliographer according to the following criteria.
Issues to consider when selecting an Internet Ebook
Important for the program area? Which program area?
Who maintains the ebook site? If it has institutional support, it is much more likely that it may continue for several years.
Does the site include the complete text of the title?
Is there a cost associated with it? (membership, etc.)
Password/subscription needed?
Is it cataloged in WorldCat? If so, provide a printout of the record.
Does it require a particular ebook reader or format software to read? If so, what?
If the bibliographer determines that the title is worthy of adding to ACORN, they will fill out the following form and give the form to Anne Womack.
FORM FOR SUBMITTING WEBSITES FOR CATALOGING
Anne will review the ebook submission form, and if approved, give the form to Eileen for cataloging.
