Step-by-Step Guide to VU-Mail

OR Follow Patron Instructions

• Click on Vanderbilt University on the left side of Divinity Library homepage
• Click on Computing Services
• Click on Authorize your VUnet ID
• Click on Authorize your VUnet ID again on the left side of the page
• Read "Computer privileges and responsibilities"
• At the end of the page, click on "I have read Vanderbilt University's policy ... and agree to abide by the policy"
• follow the instructions and fill in your information

Remember that the PASSWORD IS CASE SENSITIVE!  That means you will have to remember exactly how you entered you password including upper and lower casing.

• Click on Authorize

• You will be gven a VUnet ID 

Remember that the VUnet ID and password will be used for checking your e-mail in the future. MEMORIZE THEM.

• our e-mail address (Business card address, BCA) will consist of:

your firstname.middleinitial.lastname @vanderbilt.edu   

Access your e-mail via any computer stations in Vandy libraries or off campus

1.  Type in :

2. Type your VUnet ID and password to open your e-mail file

***In order to use VUaccess, you must have a VUnet ID.  You will also need to have either 1. the appropriate dial-in software for Vanderbilt OR 2. Web Proxy Access.

Consolidate your Vandy e-mail account with your other account

1.  Go to VUMail home page and click Modify many of above options

2.  Type your Vunet and Password and click on get options

3.  Click Redirect incoming mail to your BCAs to some other e-mail address....

4.  Type your other e-mail address in the box (ex. j.doe@mcmail.vanderbilt.edu)

What to do when you forget your password and VUnet ID

Go to the Computer Center in person asking for reset
