Copiers
Use Instructions
If the copier has a problem that you cannot fix (see troubleshooting), you will need to place a service call:
Place the word-processed, laminated "out of order" sign on the machine
Note the ABA code on a label in the front of the copier machine
Call Glenn Waters
- Press "copier problem" button on the circ phone
- Listen for a beep
- Punch in our extension 26992
- Hang up the phone
- Glenn should return the call promptly, so you will either need to stick by the circulation phone or make sure that whoever is at the circulation desk knows the appropriate information (including the ABA code) to give Glenn.
Note: If Glenn does not respond in 30 minutes or if it is after 4 P.M., send a Pegasus mail message explaining the problem to:
Waters@library.vanderbilt.edu
You will then have to inform patrons that it is not likely that the copier problem will be resolved that evening.

Changing lenses on the Fiche Reader:
Grasp the handles on either side of the lens and pull the lens gently towards yourself. The replacement lens should glide easily along its tracks if you have installed it properly. You will need to lift the front edge of the lens slightly to get it over the glass plate on the carrier. Extra lenses are located on the shelves behind the circulation desk.
- When more than one patron wants to use the microform machine, or if it is out of order, please direct them to the Microform and Media reading room on the 6th floor in Central. Film/fiche can be charged out, by using an over-ride and setting a special date. Remind the patrons to bring the items back downstairs when they have finished reading.
