What are they?
Dissertation proposals are descriptions of a Ph.D. candidate's proposed dissertation, outlining how the dissertation will be organized, it's emphasis and theory.
Copies are sent to the Divinity Library in the campus mail from the GDR office so that the information can be made available to other students.
What to do with them?
Check to make sure that no personal data has been sent over along with the packet accidentally. The library should not receive any letters, e-mails, or memos related to the student's dissertation committee. Any such information should be walked back to Cathy Griswold immediately.
Post the proposals (the library does not make a back-up photocopy) on the bulletin board near the Vendacard dispenser.
Remove the oldest proposals from the bulletin board.
File them in the reserve file cabinet (drawer will be labeled) in the appropriate file folder -- Theology, Homiletics, etc.
Patrons requesting proposals from an earlier date should contact Cathy Griswold in the GDR office.
