Before this card can be created, the actual application must be processed and approved by the Public Services Librarian, Sandra Riggs.
Use the USER DISPLAY wizard (person/magnifying glass) to seach the database and make sure patron is not already there in a former status (alumni, luc, etc.) Search by last name only first, then by Social Security Number. Searching by both is necessary since names can be misspelled and not all records have social security numbers. When a match is found you use the MODIFY USER (person/eraser-side down pencil) command to update the record.
When no match is found use the NEW USER REGISTRATION wizard (person/pencil point-down). It will be easiest if you use Workflows on the DIVINFO machine when and with ACORN up as "DIVREPT". All of the information you would need to select is already entered as a default set and you will get the correct looking screen. See below.
Type in the user id-- this is the SSN unless otherwise specified by the patron. <ENTER> or click "OK"
A new screen appears.
SSN: Should be entered without spaces or dashes
GROUP ID: ignore
TITLE: ignore
NAME: Input the name in the following format: (Last name<space>suffix<period><comma><space>Firstname<space>Middle name or middle initial with a period following it.
Ex: Johnson Jr., John J.
LIBRARY: DIVINITY
PROFILE NAME: DIV-CLERGYIf you are in the DIVREPT ACORN, the following should be filled out for you. Check the "Demogrphics" tab to be sure!
CATEGORY 1: DIV-ONLY
CATEGORY2: COURTESY
DEPARTMENT: Ignore
CLASS: IgnoreGO TO THE "PRIVILEGE" TAB
Make the expiration date a year from today's date. You will need to type in your override in the field.
GO TO THE ADDRESS TAB
Enter the patron's address on Line 1 and Line 2 if needed. Enter the City and state on Line 2 or Line 3. Enter the zipcode on the zipcode line. Enter the telephone number/s on the appropriate lines.
If the patron wishes to have ACORN notices sent by e-mail, input this in the ADDRESS 3 line for e-mail and select address 3 as the primary address.
