What are Qualifying Exams on file?
Qualifying exams on file are either old exam questions, or sample questions for use in preparing Ph.D candidate to take their qualifying exams in the Graduate Department of Religion (GDR).
Does the Divinity Library have any?
As of this web update, the Library does not have any qualifying exam questions.
Didn't the Library used to have them?
Yes. The GDR decided that students would be better served by a departmental review of the sample questions. All the old folders kept by the library were recalled. All GDR faculty are expected to review the old questions for their area, and to resubmit sample questions.
Where can I go to get Qualifying Exams now?
Cathy Griswold in the GDR, Garland building, can assist any students that need to review old exam questions. She has all the old questions on file, until the new study set is created by the faculty. It is our understanding that the library will get a copy of the new study set when it becomes available.
