Advantages of a university divinity school - your own specific divinity library as well as all the other resources of law, medical, central, etc.
We stay in touch by hiring lots of students. For instance, our PhD students order our books in their area, so that our collection directly reflects what is happening in the classroom.
Our space is restricted, but we maximize the attractive areas for quiet study space - reference and Judaica, for instance.
We have an annex for older materials, all on the computer, with a one-day turnaround for delivery.
Collection size = 175,000 volumes, all very specifically focused on religion. Periodical subscriptions = 750 titles.
Computer resources - very strong in this area. We have most of the important databases, and ATLA Religion Databases is accessible from home. We also have ProQuest Direct accessible from home, and it has just added 100 religion titles available in full text.
Strong in every subject area except religious education. Also, since we are non-denominational, we have the major items for every denomination and faith group, but don't have all items - for instance, we don't collect youth curriculum materials for any denomination.
Research Assistance - we have a service that works with each student individually for any paper or project that they want library help with.
