Emergency Weather Radio

The weather radio is located to the side of the Infodesk workstation, near the Circulation laser printer. It has an alert button and a weather button.
It will go off for warnings, watches or immediate severe weather advisories.
When it goes off, you will hear a whine.
The whine will continue for several seconds, unless you hit the "weather" button.
When you hit the weather button, it will switch over to the radio and give you news and information.
Listen for a few minutes to make sure you have heard what kind of an advisory there is and what counties are involved.
If needed, notify patrons about the weather.
Keep in mind that the radio will play warnings and advisories for many counties, so severe weather may not be immanent when the alert goes off. Nevertheless, one should listen to be sure.
Press the "alert" button to restore the radio to its normal condition.
DO NOT UNPLUG THE RADIO !!
