1. Launch Passport.
2. Choose Session/Create.
3. In the first window click the YES button.
4. In the next window choose whichever OCLC Services option fits the
situation (e.g., PRISM cataloging for cataloging), and click Next.
5. On the next window choose Internet as the access method, and then
click Next.
6. Put in your OCLC Service Authorization and Password.
If you don't know these off hand, you should be able to get them by
going up to the Tools menu and choosing Macro. On the resulting
window, find "Logon" in the list under the Macro Names section.
Highlight it and choose Edit. In the resulting window you'll see,
among other things, PrismAuthorization$="something" and
PrismPassword$="something." Those "somethings" are your OCLC Service
Authorization and Password.
7. In the next window enter a session name. We often call ours
something that has Internet in it (e.g., for the Music Library, Music
Internet). Click Finish.
8. On the next window (the Macro Book Name window), which you'll
likely get, you can use the same Macro Book Name as you use for your
regular, non-internet transactions with OCLC, or you can create
another Macro Book (with a name like lcatint--for Law Cataloging
Internet macro) and put it in the macros that you need. Click
finish.
9. If you decided to use a preexisting Macro Book, you'll likely
get a message asking if you want to overwrite preexisting Logon and
Logoff macros. I'd choose no.
