New Members ProceduresPeople will inquire about Kesler membership by mail, in person, by e-mail, or by telephone. Procedures are slightly different for WEB patrons (folks who submit their requests via the Internet) because they do not receive copies of the Kesler Newsletter since they can access ACORN and the Recent Acquisitions Lists via the KCL web pages.

Send the following items
A personalized cover letter (template found in G: Divinity/Kesler/letters/newmember.doc).The cover letter can be changed to respond appropriately to the initial request. For example, if the minister wants to borrow particular items, note their availability and explain that you will send them as soon as the completed membership card is returned.
A copy of the General Information Sheet (found in G: Divinity/Kesler/masters/geninfo.doc
A blank Membership card.
A copy of the latest Kesler Newsletter (if it is available)
Note on the request letter (or telephone message) the date on which the letter was sent, and file it in the "Applications Pending" file. When the completed membership card is returned, retrieve the original request from the Applications Pending file.
Create Membership records for the card file, ACORN, and the Access database
